VOLUNTEERS NEEDEDWater Stations (8):A Chief and several friends at each to cheer runners on, provide them liquid refreshment, take care of their items dropped off, and provide aid to the injured if needed. Items to bring are a boom box for music, decorations if you like, and healthy snacks are okay. Cell phone needed for communication. Bikers:These are needed for policing the trail, providing aid to the injured, alerting non-participants of the race. Bikers wear orange bibs for identification by the runners and need cell phones. Photographers:To capture Runners and Walkers of the day, little anecdotes along the way, and record events at the beginning and end. Turn in a CD of photos after the race for use in the following year’s publicity. Flaggers:Needed in certain areas of Kenai and Soldotna, especially at corners, for keeping Runners on course. They usually wear an orange bib. Finish Line Support:Assist in handing out medals and water to runners as they cross the finish line, keep the homestretch clear of bystanders. VENDORS OPPORTUNITIESVendors interested in providing healthy goods for Runners and families are encouraged. They should contact the Race Director in advance of the race.
